Land of volcanoes

A road trip from Mexico city to Cordoba Veracruz passes through several active volcanoes where you'll probably see them "smoking", and most of them can be visited hiking. From the famous couple Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl that sometimes are even visible from within the city up to Citlaltépetl mostly known as Pico de Orizaba, which is also the tallest Mexican mountain.

Besides that there are several other volcanoes mostly on center and Pacific regions; the two "nevados" Toluca and Colima, both regularly smoking. The are various in Michoacan state, including Parícutin - the youngest one and Los Azufres with relaxing thermal springs and natural saunas.

There are also some in south near the border with Guatemala, like El Chichón and some in the California peninsula like Tres Virgenes.
